This year, instead of sending you a family-specific gift wish list, we are requesting monetary donations to help us purchase gift cards for JFS clients. Gift cards allow clients to have the opportunity and dignity of choosing exactly what they and their family members need. For those who cannot access online shopping, JFS case managers will assist with uniquely requested purchases. This approach, which we launched for the first time last year, will once again help us maintain safety precautions while also providing our clients with the flexibility to purchase their own items as they see fit. For some, this may mean groceries and clothing; for others, it could mean holiday gifts for young children.
The goal for this program, as always, is to preserve the dignity, confidentiality and health of JFS clients, while creating a meaningful and safe opportunity for the community to provide greatly appreciated holiday gifts to individuals and families in need.
