Jewish Family Service helps vulnerable individuals and families in the Puget Sound region achieve well-being, health and stability. Jewish history and values guide our work; therefore, we provide effective services to people of all backgrounds and also have a responsibility to meet the particular needs of Jewish individuals and families in the region.
More than half the JFS operating budget comes from donations. Your participation at the Luncheon ensures that JFS will continue to provide the quality services and programs that help vulnerable people create better futures for themselves and their families.
The Luncheon begins promptly at noon. Guest check-in begins at 11:30 a.m. Table Captain check-in begins at 11:00 a.m. All guests must be pre-registered.
Thanks to matching gifts, your generosity at the 2017 Community of Caring Luncheon can be leveraged. Make an even greater impact in the lives of vulnerable individuals and families in our region. Four generous families will match individual, foundation and company gifts:
NEW GIFTS: Since 7/1/2015
INCREASED GIFTS: At least 10% over last year’s Luncheon gift
Our warmest thanks to these generous families for their matching gifts:
Joann & Carl Bianco
The De Jonge Family
Leslie Ray Bernstein & Michael Bernstein
We invite you to put your business in front of more than 1,000 of the region’s most prominent business people, professionals and philanthropists — and at the same time, support JFS in delivering essential services with respect and dignity to people in our local community.
The Grand Ballroom at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel will be filled with guests who have gathered to learn more about how JFS helps individuals and families in our region achieve well-being, health and stability. Guided by our history and values, JFS provides services to people of all backgrounds.
Instead of purchasing a ticket, each guest will be asked to contribute a minimum tax-deductible donation of $180. Thanks to generous corporate underwriting, each dollar raised from individual donations made at the Luncheon supports the services JFS provides to help those in our local community who need it most. A year ago, corporate sponsorships helped leverage more than $1.3 million in support of our community's most urgent human needs.
Being a Table Captain is one of the most impactful ways you can influence the success of our fundraising efforts and help JFS provide services to vulnerable individuals and families in our community. Any individual, couple or group can be a Table Captain.
A Table Captain invites nine to eleven other people to join them at the Luncheon to learn more about the work of JFS. Family, friends, neighbors and colleagues make excellent potential guests. The suggested minimum donation is $180 and all donations are tax-deductible, above and beyond the $22 value of the meal.
You help raise money to support JFS efforts, and your friends will appreciate you for introducing them to JFS and the role it plays in our community. You provide others the opportunity to be a part of helping vulnerable individuals and families create healthier, more stable lives.
By bringing new people to the Luncheon, you are expanding our community of supporters, which is essential to the stability and growth of our services. Our goal is for you to feel very proud of your connection to JFS and your role as a Table Captain.
No problem! We can help you fill your table, or you can choose to co-captain a table with a friend.
In January, JFS will send printed invitations to our entire database. Filling your table begins with extending the personal ask after the invitations have gone out. Invite guests in person, by phone or email.
When guests accept your invitation, please ask them to register online. Once registered, we will provide them with a confirmation email. One week prior to the Luncheon, we'll send a reminder postcard and email.
Please remember, your guests need to register no later than Friday, March 24, 2017. Reminder phone calls and/or emails to reconfirm their attendance are helpful, too!
*A special salute to these dedicated individuals who have given so graciously of their time as Table Captains for at least 9 of the 15 Luncheons. THANK YOU!
