Instruction and Support Specialist

Jewish Family Service is currently seeking an Instruction and Support Specialist (Home Care Aide) to join our Supported Living Services team.  This full-time (37.5 hours per week) position is responsible for helping adults with cognitive disabilities reach their highest potential and complete tasks themselves. The schedule for this position includes a Saturday shift.


  • Help clients in their homes with the following:
    • light housekeeping
    • food preparation
    • laundry
    • grocery shopping
  • Provide companionship and limited transportation
  • Provide skills training, such as cooking or cleaning instruction
  • Provide friendly telephone calls to provide emotional support and decrease social isolation
  • Communicate and coordinate with Case Managers and other team members to support client goals


  • Strong interpersonal skills are required
  • Must be able to work effectively and compassionately with clients who have mental, physical or cognitive disabilities
  • Knowledge of Jewish community and culture (or willingness to be trained) preferred
  • HCA, CNA or NA-r and relevant training/experience is required. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Must have a valid Washington State Driver’s License and access to an insured vehicle


  • The pay for this position is $22.68 – $27.72 an hour depending on relevant and applicable experience.
