Stand in Community: Build Power & Know Your Rights
Join us for our Standing in Community: Building Power & Knowing Your Rights training on Thursday, March 12, from 6:00-7:30 PM! Co-hosted by JFS and the Jewish Coalition for Immigrant Justice NW, this virtual program brings the Jewish community together for Jewish grounding, learning, and action at a moment of increasing uncertainty and fear for immigrants and refugees. We will go beyond “Know Your Rights 101” to explore how understanding our rights builds community power—and what to do when those rights are violated. The session will offer best practices, advocacy tools, bystander and neighbor-to-neighbor strategies, and clear steps participants can take.
Join us on Sunday, March 22, to create and deliver Passover gift bags for homebound members of the Seattle community. Help us fill our neighbors' seder plates — sign up for a volunteer shift that includes gift bag making, community gathering, and gift delivery. Volunteers of all ages are welcome!
Join Rabbi Ronit Tsadok, Director of Project Kavod, for monthly, stand-alone learning opportunities that draw on the wisdom and tools of Jewish tradition to help us navigate times of instability and uncertainty. Project Kavod is a JFS initiative that connects our essential work to the core Jewish values that inspire and guide our mission. All members of the Jewish community are warmly invited to participate.
Participants are encouraged to engage in discussion as much or as little as they feel comfortable.
All learning opportunities will be hosted in-person at the Jewish Family Service Seattle Campus. A kosher, vegetarian lunch will be provided. All guests must be pre-registered to attend.

No one should go hungry. Most of JFS clients rely on SNAP food assistance, which is often not enough to keep bellies full. Visits to the Polack Food Bank have been skyrocketing as prices rise and federal support dwindles. Buy items from our Amazon wish list to support our neighbors who pick up food from the Polack Food Bank.
