At JFS, our work is deeply rooted in Jewish values. Every program, service and act of kindness reflects our commitment to Tikkun Olam (repairing the world), K’vod HaBri’ot (respecting human dignity), and Kehilah Lomedet (fostering a learning community).

“If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If I am only for myself, what am I? And if not now, when?” These words have inspired the Jewish people for thousands of year. They have guided JFS since 1892.
In 2023, we developed a new strategic plan to lead us deeper into the areas where we are strongest, invest in the life-changing programs and services that support our Jewish communities, and invest in the systems for growth and in our extraordinary staff who help us meet our mission every day.
Strategic PlanWe are obligated to love/befriend the stranger because we were once strangers. We understand from devastating, first-hand experience the tragedy that occurs when citizens and nations turn a deaf ear and blind eye to those who are fleeing persecution, war, and terror.
