A National Day of Community Action: TogetherTuesday

On TogetherTuesday (June 23, 2026), people across America will come together to care for, connect with, and engage their communities. Check in on neighbors. Share a skill. Coordinate a donation drive. Volunteer with friends or co-workers. Any action that says: I see you, and we’re in this together.

JFS has numerous special volunteer opportunities for TogetherTuesday including:

We also welcome any ideas you have (big or small)! Please reach out to volunteer@jfsseattle.org to speak with a staff member to coordinate.

What we know:

  • Community action changes communities. People who give and volunteer develop a stronger sense of belonging and a more open mindset toward neighbors; 80% of Americans will help someone whose beliefs differ from their own.
  • Generosity is contagious. When people see their neighbors helping, they’re significantly more likely to act themselves – even those not naturally inclined toward civic engagement.
  • Volunteers live longer and healthier lives. Generosity is good for the people who give, not just the communities that receive it.
