The Jewish people have been forced out, relocated and eradicated in nation after nation. From our current perch in America, with rights and privileges intact, we are able to pause and ask these vital questions: how do the histories that precede us impact our lives? Do we carry that history, and if so, in what way?
This workshop/lecture looks at the inheritance of trauma and memory, what it means for the surviving generations of war and violence, and what it means to move forward as a Jewish people with this information. This talk will include resources and will address trauma from the medical, scientific, therapeutic and spiritual perspective. Think of this as Trauma 101 — how to understand it, how to remedy it and the future that work can promise.
