Mitzvah Days
Several times a year, JFS arranges special projects to help seniors, low-income families or people with disabilities. If you'd like to participate in yard clean-up, house-painting or help with other chores for a day, let us know.
From time to time, JFS needs a volunteer to support to a client undergoing transition or family stress. Volunteers might help a client move, offer a listening ear or lend a hand with a small fix-it chore. Sign up to be on our on-call list.
Childcare and Camp Counselor Volunteer Positions
Throughout the year our Family Life Education program hosts special events, meetings and family-centered programming during which we need child care or volunteers with experience as camp counselors. If you enjoy spending time with children and have some experience in this area, sign up on our list. Events are usually evenings and Sundays.
Companions for Adults with Disabilities
Adults with developmental disabilities and mental illness who participate in the SAJD's Supported Living Program greatly enjoy and appreciate the company of volunteers. Visit them in their homes, help out with holiday baking or crafts projects, and go on outings. You'll expand their world, and yours!
