Internships
Responsibilities at our Seattle office may include:
- Help in Food Bank and with food delivery
- Support at outreach events, volunteer projects, youth events
- Help with evening childcare or at Sunday afternoon activities
- Help with office tasks: filing, copying, mailings, phone calls
- Help with research for community outreach
- Help with data entry (computer experience necessary)
- Tutor immigrants and refugees in English
- Assist in ESL classes
- Visit a senior or walk dogs for a senior shut in
- Special projects, based on the intern’s skills and interests
Responsibilities in Bellevue or Kent offices may include:
- Tutor new immigrants and refugees in English
- Assist in ESL Class
- Mentor a new immigrant family
- Help with paperwork, logistics for arriving families
- Meet new arrivals at the airport
- Research and create teaching materials for new immigrants
- Special projects, based on the intern’s skills and interests
What the intern will learn from this position:
- Work experience in community social service agency
- Organizational skills, project management, social skills, and compassion
- Specific information about the clients and cultural groups being served
