I-485 Green Card information:
A refugee must remain in the U.S. for a full year following admission to be eligible to file an I-485 green card application. JFS staff assist in completing these applications. Call (253) 850-4056, or (253) 643-2221 to learn more about the application, or arrange a meeting with a JFS staff member. Further information about the green card process can be found at:

Burma Action Group (Seattle Burma Roundtable)

The Burma Action Group is a collection of college students, faculty and community members that advocate for freedom, democracy, and human rights in Burma. The group leads a roundtable discussion on the firsst Tuesday of every month, and organizes local events in support of their cause.
International Rescue Committee (IRC)

The IRC is a resettlement agency that works closely with JFS.
Iraqi Support Village
Their goal is to bring together Iraqis and Americans in order to build a community of personal and professional support. Refugee Women’s Alliance (ReWA)

ReWA supports a variety of services aimed primarily at refugee women and children, including job placement, vocational training, counseling, social service, and educational programs. ReWA has offices in Seattle, Bellevue, and South King County.

The ORR is a major source of funding for refugee and other marginalized populations in the U.S. Through diverse programs and grants, the ORR supports refugee resettlement and social services on federal, state and local levels, including agencies, such as JFS.
