Interfaith Families

Our programming for interfaith families offers a comfortable and inviting place to explore what it means to be a couple from different faiths, cultures or backgrounds. Whether it’s celebrating the distinctive blend of foods on your holiday table, nerves about a first visit to your partner’s place of worship, or lively discussions about your child’s religious identity, each interfaith couple and family makes their own unique journey together.

Interfaith couples have an extra layer of complexity compared to same-faith couples -- things just can’t be taken for granted. Communication, childhood experiences, expectations about money, children and extended family may all arise as differences in style and viewpoints. Milestones in a relationship, such as getting engaged, planning a wedding or starting a family, draw on each person’s religious and cultural experiences and preferences. Differences may become more apparent at these key points.

Our classes and events address these issues in an intimate setting, where you can share and learn with other interfaith couples and experienced facilitators. Events take place year round, at a variety of locations in the community. A range of topics and formats are held, as well as both adult-only events and family events.
