Shaarei Tikvah: Gates of Hope A Celebration of Rosh Hashanah for People of All Abilities A community wide non-denominational service for persons of all abilities. All are welcome to join us in prayer and celebration, and hear the sounding of the shofar. Led by Cantor David Serkin-Poole and special guests. ASL provided by a CI/CT interpreter. Feed the Food Bank that Feeds the Community! Sunday, September 19 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. What can you do to "Feed the Community"? You can volunteer to help at the Jewish Family Service Food Sort in September! At this time each year, the Jewish community comes together to fill grocery bags for the only food bank in Washington that meets the needs of local families. What better way to do a mitzvah than with your peers from Endless Opportunities. A great day to: ~sort food ~ schmooze with your friends ~ nosh on all kinds of goodies ~ count your blessings while helping others. Advance registration is required! Sukkot Gathering: Celebrating Our Diverse Families Today's Jewish families are as unique and varied as the sukkot commemorating the temporary shelters used while wandering in the desert. We'll gather at Congregation Beth Shalom to explore Sukkot, especially its themes of hospitality and unity. Meet in the sukkah with other families who share diverse backgrounds and heritage, such as interfaith couples & Jews by choice, for adult discussion and kids' activities relating to Sukkot and its themes.
