What is done during aninut, the period between a person's death and burial? What is the role of the chevra kadisha, or burial society? How must a body be prepared for burial? What practical information do you need to know about caskets, cemeteries and other funeral preparations? With Ross Kling of the Seattle Jewish Chapel. Parents may insist upon driving despite safety concerns, or refuse to take vital medication. They may want to remain in their multi-story home although they have great difficulty going up and down stairs. Gain perspective on how to maintain respect for your parents' dignity and independence, while you also look out for their safety. The most well known and beloved piece of music from the opera is sung by the chorus - Singing, "Va pensiero, sull'ali dorate, the Jews long to return to their homeland from Babylon". Within six months he was engaged with his fellow sailors in one of the Navy's most historic and heroic battles, the battle for Leyte Gulf in the Philippines. Join us as Jack retells how a much smaller force defeated Vice Admiral Kurita of the Japanese Navy, and changed the course of history. A New Partnership with JFS! PEPS is now offering a peer support group experience for parents of newborns within a culturally sensitive context. In addition to universal topics such as new roles and responsibilities, feeding and sleep, this special partnership offers a chance to address Jewish traditions and resources in the Jewish community. Jewish and interfaith parents are invited to join us! We will meet once a week for 12 weeks at community locations and members homes throughout the Greater Seattle area.
